2022The Challenge
HAO mart is a chain of supermarkets and minimarts in Singapore with over 45 outlets island-wide. The beating heart of its operations: a mega warehouse facility at Changi. With large ongoing electrical loads, the retailer sought a clean energy provider for innovative ways to mitigate the impact of volatile energy prices and high electricity bills on operating costs.
Solution
Meeting this challenge head-on, we undertook the extensive warehouse facility solar panel installation at absolutely no cost to HAO mart. Keeping the large-scale energy requirements of a mega warehouse system in mind, we designed the 867 kWp solar power system to generate approximately 1,000 MWh of electricity at full capacity.
Outcome
With a solar PV system in place, Union has enabled Hao mart to reduce electricity costs by 30% since its switch to renewable energy.
