By switching to solar energy, you are future-proofing your home and ensuring energy security for your family. You will be less susceptible to price hikes and potentially high energy prices should any crisis strikes. Furthermore, you will be part of the nation’s Green Plan initiative for sustainable and eco-friendly living.
You can save up to 80%* on your monthly electricity bills. You can also use the cash rebate to offset other utility bills, such as water bills, if your bills are with Singapore Power (SP).
It depends, but on an average, it can range from $15,000. The cost of installing solar panels on your roof depends on your residential home type, roof area, and system size. Because no system size is the same, no matter how identical a house looks, the cost can vary.
The average break-even period is approximately six years. It depends on the your roof size, system size, as well as your energy consumption
Most roofs are suitable for solar panels. If you are concerned about your roof's suitability, contact us for a non-obligatory assessment to do a deeper analysis. Other helpful information that can aid our assessment includes your roof plan and the roof’s capacity to bear the additional load weight of the structures.
One of the key advantages of switching to solar PV systems is that it minimises the chance of power outage. After the solar panel installation, interruption of electricity supply will less likely happen unless there is a need for repair or maintenance services.
Not necessarily. Nonetheless, they are relatively easy to maintain and do not require frequent cleaning.
Under the SolarNova programme, HDB and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) help accelerate the deployment of solar PV systems islandwide.
Installing solar panels in condominiums or penthouses on rooftops can be challenging. While it is technically possible, there are several considerations to take note of. You will need to go through your MCST and reach an agreement with all the unit owners before proceeding forward. Furthermore, there are also other limitations and restrictions that can pose obstacles to enjoying the benefits of solar energy. Nonetheless, we are constantly striving to craft sustainable and affordable solutions so that many more can enjoy a better and brighter tomorrow.
Commercial FAQs
Switching to solar energy is certainly worth the investment and is more sustainable for your business. The global energy crisis has affected several businesses (and residential homes), impacting business finances, productivity, and competitiveness. As the commercial and industrial sectors consume more energy, it is more viable to have access to renewable energy and be less dependent on the power grid for energy supply.
- Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
Entering into a solar PPA allows businesses to enjoy the benefits of solar energy without upfront investment costs and the hassle of managing solar panels installation on their rooftop. This is a popular choice and the most cost-effective option preferred by businesses. As the solar developer, we take the ownership of installing, managing, and maintaining your solar system, and only charging you at a competitive solar tariff rate over a period of 20 to 25 years. - Outright Purchase (Turnkey Solution)
Purchasing a solar PV system can be a hefty investment for a business. It depends on the business strategy and the overall cash flow. Nonetheless, having full access to the solar PV system gives the business control over energy generation and consumption.
Regardless of which solutions you choose, you will enjoy cost savings and have access to affordable renewable energy source without worrying about sudden hikes in energy prices.
Contact us for more details if you would like to find out how PPA or Outright Purchase work.
Yes, there are warranties provided by the respective product providers. You can be rest assured that our solar engineering team conducts regular procurement reviews to ensure only the topperforming product brands with the latest and most updated core technology are used for maximum efficiency.

Follow the following steps to start charging your electric vehicle.
- Scan the QR code on the charging station with your Union Power+ app. In the unlikely situation where the QR code scanning does not work, you can manually enter the Charger ID and Connector ID located on the charging station.
- Connect the charger plug to your vehicle to start charging; end the charge with the app and return the plug to the station.
- You are required to add your card payment details into the app before charging your vehicle.
If you are unable to start a charging session, please consider the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
- Ensure that the cable is well-connected between the charging plug and the vehicle. In most cases, re-plugging resolves the connectivity issue.
- If it has not been resolved, you may restart the app and start the charging session again.
- Outstanding payments from previous charging sessions may deter you from starting another charging session. So, you may clear any outstanding payments before charging your vehicle.
- If the issue persists or you have faced other technical issues (e.g. the charging station is faulty or not powered on), please WhatsApp our customer support team at +65 9615 4407 to report the issue.
In the rare occasion where the charging plug is stuck in your vehicle’s charging socket, which can be due to charger malfunction or connection time-out. Do not panic if you encounter it. You can first stop the charging session via the Union Power+ app. Alternatively, you can lock and unlock the car with your key fob, and gently remove the charging plug from the socket.
If none of these works, you will be required to do a manual release.
Once your EV battery is fully charged at 100%, the current flow will stop automatically so it will not overcharge the battery. Nonetheless, if you are using the EV charger in public spaces, it would be appreciated to be considerate of others.
Do note that if you leave your vehicle connected to the charger, you will still be billed even after the battery is fully charged.

Just like charging your mobile devices, leaving them on the charger for an extended period may shorten the battery’s lifespan. To preserve your battery’s lifespan, do not wait until it depletes entirely before the next charging cycle.
Some EV manufacturers have smart systems installed as buffers to reduce the impact on power demand, depending on your EV.
It depends on various factors.
-
Battery Capacity
The larger the battery capacity (in kWh), the longer it takes to charge as compared to smaller battery capacities. -
State of Charge
If you are recharging from an empty state at 0%, it will take longer to reach a full charge than topping up at 50%. -
Charger’s Power Rating
As a rule of thumb, the higher the power rating of the charger, the faster the charging speed will be. Nonetheless, the actual charging time depends on the EV’s design, such as the battery size, on-board charger capacity, alternating current (AC) and/ or direct current (DC) charger compatibility, battery management system, etc. -
Vehicle’s Charging Rate
The charging speed is dependent on the vehicle’s maximum charging rate. In other words, a higher charging rate on a charging point does not mean that your vehicle charges faster. -
Environment Conditions
A colder climate can result in a longer charge time. This effect is more noticeable if you are using a rapid charger. However, in a climate like Singapore, lithium-ion batteries in EV work optimally and are long-lasting.
Yes, if your electric vehicle adheres to Singapore’s regulations and standards, your vehicle is able to charge at our charging stations. Mennekes (Type 2) chargers and the Combined Charging System 2 (CCS 2) are the most common types of EV chargers in Singapore.
You can either use an AC or DC charger to power your vehicle. As a general guide, an AC charger is normally used for homes or light commercial sectors e.g. office buildings. AC Charger usually takes 4 to 5 hours to charge your vehicle depending on the EV model. On the other hand, DC charger is commonly used in heavy commercial and industrial sectors e.g. petrol stations, shopping malls, or factories to cater for heavy usage electric fleets or quicker charging time of 1 to 2 hours when time is of the essence.
Payments FAQs
Where a charging point is located in public car parks and any other restricted areas, you will be required to pay the parking fees to the car park operators, unless specifically mentioned.
If you are unsure about this, please consult the building or the car park administrators.
The cost of charging your electric vehicle is dependent on the various energy market factors (e.g. electricity prices, fuel prices and other related operational costs). Updated prices will be reflected in the Union Power+ app.
Your credit/debit card may have expired or have insufficient funds. You may try using another credit/debit card, or contact your bank for card-related issues.
You can only initiate the EV charging process via our Union Power+ app.
